Job Description

A respected law firm is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Administrative Paralegal to support a high-volume, detail-driven practice focused on domestic estate administration, trust administration, and fiduciary accounting. This role requires the ability to independently manage estate matters from inception through closing, while collaborating closely with attorneys as needed to deliver exceptional client service.

Work Arrangement:

  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office / 2 days remote

Compensation:

  • $90,000 - $120,000, based on experience

Because much of the work involves accounting and estate tax matters, the successful candidate will have strong mathematical, organizational, and technological skills. This position also requires compassion and professionalism when working with clients who may be experiencing significant stress or loss.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage estate administration matters from beginning to end
  • Identify, gather, and value estate and trust assets
  • Prepare probate filings, trust documents, and fiduciary accountings
  • Prepare estate and trust accountings
  • Prepare federal and state estate tax returns
  • Review and interpret wills and trust agreements in collaboration with attorneys and assist with trust funding
  • Utilize reference materials and conduct basic research as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and manage sensitive information with sound judgment

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree and paralegal certification (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in trusts and estates, estate administration, or fiduciary accounting
  • Familiarity with court and regulatory filing procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), PDF and document management software
  • Experience with tax preparation and accounting software (e.g., FastTax, ProSystems)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and client service skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines, multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and work overtime as required
  • Interest in continuous learning and adapting to new technology
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment and participate in mentoring
